The murder case against Killer Cop Rahid Ahmed has yet been adjourned for a fourth time.
The trial of Pangani-based police officer Rashid Ahmed, who is suspected of killing two teenagers, has been postponed for the fourth time by the High Court till March 29, 2023.
Judge Diana Mochache, who handled the case for the first time, differed the plea taking in the issue to allow her to examine the file and understand the prior court proceedings before issuing orders.
The previous sessions were conducted by Judge Kanyi Kimondo, who was not present today. At the last court session, Judge Kimondo ordered Rashid to appear in court on Wednesday for a plea taking.
Nevertheless, when the case was called for a plea on Wednesday morning, Rashid’s counsel, led by Danstan Omari, notified the court that there were numerous ongoing preliminary concerns that the court needed to address before his client could be called to face the murder charges.
“You honor there are pending issues which your brother Justice Kanyi Kimondo had not dealt with before the plea is taken including whether the court has jurisdiction to hear and determine the case against Rashid, ” Omari stated.
