Raila Odinga will lead the Azimio brigade to the anti-government rally in Kisumu on Saturday.
Azimio has been holding nationwide rallies to put pressure on President William Ruto’s administration, which it has labeled illegitimate.
Raila will hold a consultative forum with Nyanza leaders on Saturday before holding the rally at Kisumu’s Moi stadium.
Raila is expected to be joined by other Azimio brigade leaders.
Raila spoke at a rally in Kisii on Friday on behalf of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, saying he is ready to fight for him.
Raila claimed that when the government allegedly tried to raid Matiang’i’s Karen home recently, they were planning to plant weapons there.
“I’ve seen how they’ve begun to crack down on Matiang’i and wanted to plant some things in his house so that they could arrest him; this is a man who has served the country and should be respected,” he said.
Raila stated that the Keroka people have agreed to support him in his quest for justice.
“They have urged us to continue fighting for them and other Kenyans, and we have assured them that there will be no turning back,” he explained.
