Raila Nominates His Daughter For EALA Job

Winnie Odinga has been nominated to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Winnie Odinga, Raila Odinga’s daughter, and Mombasa businessman Suleiman Shahbal were among the six nominees named in the party’s list released on Wednesday, November 9.

“ODM Selection Committee, presided by deputy party leader, Wycliffe Oparanya, met yesterday, Tuesday, November 8, and nominated the following to EALA. Suleiman Shahbal (Mombasa), Mohammed Diriye (Wajir) Winnie Odinga (Nairobi), Timothy Bosire (Nyamira), Beatrice Askul (Turkana) and Justus Kizito (Kakamega),” ODM announced.

The nominees will be presented to Parliament for vetting and approval before the joint Committee on the Election of the East Africa Legislative Assembly.

Major political parties in parliament will nominate candidates for Kenya’s nine available seats in the Arusha-based Assembly.
