The iconic Par 72 Railways Golf Club will this Saturday host the eighteenth leg of the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour, drawing over 200 golfers for a day of competitive action and community engagement.
Fresh from last weekend’s spectacle in Sigona, the event will tee off at 6:30 a.m. for the morning session, with the afternoon round slated for noon. Club Captain John Kamenyi expressed optimism about the turnout, saying the tour has been instrumental in helping thousands of golf enthusiasts sharpen their skills while enjoying the sport.
“We have worked hard to maintain the course; therefore, golfers can expect a good show,” Kamenyi noted.
Now in its third year, the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour has reached more than 2,000 players across the region and over 1,000 juniors through parallel golf clinics.
In Kenya, the series has visited ten counties, including Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Laikipia, Nandi, Mombasa, Kisii, Kiambu, Machakos, and Kericho, while Uganda and Burundi have hosted regional legs. Tanzania and Rwanda are expected to join before the grand finale.
KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru, highlighted the bank’s long-standing investment in the sport, noting that over KSh. 800 million has been spent in the past two decades to drive socio-economic transformation, foster inclusivity, and promote regional unity.
The grand finale, set for December 5, will see the winning club awarded KSh. 1 million for a sustainability initiative of its choice, while the winning four-ball will earn a sponsored slot in a prestigious international tournament.
As part of its sustainability drive, KCB has been planting trees at each tour venue, with over 3,000 trees planted so far in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
