Rally Star Maxine Wahome Freed On Ksh. 2 Million Cash Bail

Rally Star Maxine Wahome has finally been released on a cash bail of Ksh 2 million.

This comes after the trial Judge, Justice Mutende said that the prosecution failed to provide sufficient reasons for the denial of bond and or bail.

She was arrested and charged on March 7,2023 with the murder of her former Fiancé Asad Khan.

She however denied particulars of the charges saying that Khan met his death through his self inflicted injuries and that she survived a very abusive and volatile marriage.

Her neighbour corroborated her claims that Khan was a hostile partner who always assaulted his girlfriends.

At the plea taking, the prosecution vehemently objected to her release on bond and or bail pending the hearing and determination of the murder case. The state informed the Court that Maxine would interfere with the witnesses if released on bond.

This move by the state was strongly attacked by her defense Lawyers led by Philip Murgor who said that the state lacked any solid evidence and proof to show that Maxine would interfere with the witnesses.

The Court therefore asked for a probation report to arrive at a suitable bail terms.

The report indicated that she has adhered to all the probation requests and probation report showed they support bail .

Further, according to the report, she is not a flight risk and would not interfere with case in any way.
