Two foreigners are being held by Kibera police after they allegedly assaulted and robbed a filmmaker of an Sh1 million chain while filming a music video.

Mcben Otaigbe and Kelvin Itowe are the two suspects who allegedly stole the chain from a cameraman at a Ngong Road apartment.

They were apprehended on March 18 at the Casamia apartments on Ngong Road after the victim reported them to police.

At Kibera law courts, police constable Aaron Muema obtained orders detaining the accused for ten days in order to complete investigations.

Muema told senior principal magistrate Philip Mutua that he is looking into a case of robbery with violence, assault, and being in Kenya illegally.

“In this particular case, the respondents’ documentation has not been provided to prove their nationality and how, for what reasons (they) are all present in Kenya,” Muema said in an affidavit filed at Kibera law courts.
