Tour companies and travel agencies in and around East Africa have reported a surge in tourist numbers flocking the Mara game reserve to spot a rare Dotted Zebra.

First photographed by Mr Antony Tira – A renowned tour guide at Matira bush camp, photographed the black dotted foal and posted it on the camp’s Facebook page.

According to experts in the wildlife conservancy, the dotted foal was suffering from an alleged skin disorder associated with melanin pigment that is responsible for skin colour.

Due to the abnormalities, it is also researched that none of the Zebras born with this rare condition actually makes it past six months alive. They are known to be aggressive.
