Raul Jimenez on his way to secure Man Utd move as Wolves find replacement: report

Manchester United Football Club may well be looking to bolster their attack this summer, with a Raul Jimenez transfer now being talked up.

The story came from RTP a couple of days ago, who offer an intriguing update on a player the Red Devils have been linked with in the past.

Apparently, the 29-year-old striker is ‘on his way to United’ with the selling club, Wolverhampton Wanderers, already finding his replacement.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s target is Braga’s Paulinho. Their move for the 25-goal striker is being reported as ‘imminent’. When completed, it would free up Jimenez to make the switch to Old Trafford.

There is no figure placed upon the potential transfer fee for Jimenez as the article is mainly based around Wolves’ move for Paulinho. However, you’d imagine the Mexican won’t come cheap.

We’re talking about signing a player from a Premier League rival, while Jimenez’s stats speak for themselves. This season, he’s scored 26 goals across all competitions. Not too shabby.

Jimenez offers more than just goals, though. His hold-up play is brilliant while his willingness to pass to teammates in better positions cannot be understated. He’s a top-class player who’d definitely improve this United squad.

Where will he fit in?

Jimenez gives United another dimension. Credit where it’s due, Odion Ighalo has been great for us since moving to Manchester. However, he’s not the long-term option.

You’d get at least a few good seasons from Jimenez, who can be used to rotate with Anthony Martial from game-to-game depending on the situation.

This is a transfer I can fully get behind as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer starts adding some quality depth to this squad. Hopefully, an agreement can be reached and Jimenez is with us before the start of next season.
