Ravel Morrison admits to stealing Rooney and Ferdinand’s boots to feed his family

Raven was one of the brightest talents in Manchester United’s academy but off the pitch he was really struggling.

He admitted to stealing Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney’s boots from the dressing room at Manchester United’s training ground to go sell them in order for him to provide food for his family.

Sir Alex Ferguson rated him as one of the best teen players he has ever seen but the challenges he was facing off the pitch saw him not able to realize his dreams.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast spoke on the difficulties he faced while not on the field training saying that he got mixed up with wrong crowds and would be late for training and this would land him in trouble.

“Obviously I was on a scholar’s wage, I was young .you used to get like 250 euros for a pair of boots, you get 500 euros and you go home and buy your family a Chinese or something.”

“You guys used to get like 30 pairs of boots .I didn’t mean for it to cause too much harm but when I used to see yours or Wayne’s deliveries, you would get 20-30 pairs at a time, I was thinking one pair to put some food on the table at home, I didn’t think it would be a big problem but obviously now I know.”

Ravel made his debut on Manchester united in October 2010 when he came off the bench in the 3-2 league cup win against the Wolves. He made three appearances for United and all of them came in the league cup and off the bench.

He was later sold to West Ham in January 2012 and at the beginning of the 2012-2013 season he was loaned to Birmingham City. fast forward to 2019-2020 where he played for Middleborough before moving on to ADO Hagg on a free transfer in September last year he left the club by a mutual consent in January this year having played only 5 games .
