The Ministry of Health CS Nakhumicha S. Wafula has handed over a refrigerated Land Cruiser to Samburu County Governor Jonathan Lati Leleliit.
CS Nakhumicha said the collaboration aims to facilitate the transportation of vaccines, ensuring the achievement of immunization targets in the county.
“The Ministry of Health remains committed to supporting counties and advancing healthcare services. The President’s call to refocus healthcare on preventive and Promotive measures, with immunization being a key component, aligns with the Ministry’s goals,” said CS Nakhumicha.
The vehicle will transport vaccines from the depot to Samburu County, which normally obtains its vaccines from Nakuru, located hundreds of kilometres away.

The GPS tracking gadget on the vehicle permits remote monitoring and data collecting, according to the CS.
In response to the recognition from the Ministry of Health, Governor Jonathan Lati Leleliit expressed his sincere gratitude.
He acknowledged that the refrigerated Land Cruiser will significantly enhance healthcare services in the county.
A notable development in vaccine transportation technology is the refrigerated Land Cruiser driven by Gavi and Toyota Tsusho.
This newly constructed refrigerated vehicle, which was created in compliance with the strict guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO), is tailored exclusively for the secure transportation of vaccines.
