Relief For Motorists As EPRA Announces A Further Drop In Petrol, Diesel, And Kerosene Prices

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced a further reduction of fuel prices in its June review.

In the latest review, the price of Super Petrol decreased by Ksh3.00 per litre while that of Diesel and Kerosine decreased by Ksh6.08 and Ksh5.71 per litre respectively.

“In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, we have calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from 15th June to 14th July 2024. In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump price for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene decrease by KShs.3.00, KShs.6.08 and KShs.5.71 per litre respectively,” EPRA stated.

The regulatory authority noted that the prices were inclusive of 16 percent VAT, in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023 and the revised rates of excise duty.

In Nairobi, super petrol, diesel and kerosene will now retail at Sh189.84, Sh173.10 and Sh163.05, respectively, effective midnight for the next 30 days.

In Mombasa, super petrol will sell at Sh186.66, diesel at Sh169.93 and kerosene at Sh160.

In Nakuru, the retail prices for petrol, diesel and kerosene will be Sh188.90, Sh172.54 and Sh162.57 respectively.

The prices in Eldoret will be Sh189.67, Sh173.31 and Sh163.34 for super petrol, diesel and kerosene respectively.
