A suspected thug was Tuesday night shot dead and another injured in a botched robbery incident in Mwiki, Nairobi.
The injured one was taken to hospital with a bullet wound in the back.
Police say the suspects were in a group of four and had been violently robbing pedestrians in the area when an alarm was raised.
They were apparently armed with knives and other crude weapons while attacking and robbing the victims.
The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary as the injured was taken to hospital.
Police say they will wait for him to recover before arraigning him with serious charges.
Cases of armed robberies have been on the rise amid calls for heightened operations to tame the trend.
Police have been reacting killing some of the suspects while others face criminal charges.
