According to a research estimate, Russia gained $98 billion (93 billion euros) from fossil fuel exports during the first 100 days of the conflict in Ukraine, with the majority going to the European Union.

The independent Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) in Finland has released a report as Kiev wants the West to stop all trade with Russia in order to cut off the Kremlin’s financial lifeline.

According to the research, the EU took 61 per cent of Russia’s fossil fuel exports worth $60 billion over that time period (57 billion euros).

China was the largest importer, with $13.22 billion (12.6 billion euros), Germany $12.7 billion (12.1 billion euros), and Italy $8.2 billion (7.8 billion euros).
