Ruto: I’m the Man for Kenya’s Toughest Job

President William Ruto has declared himself uniquely prepared to tackle the nation’s most complex challenges, pledging unwavering commitment to Kenya’s transformation during a meeting with leaders from Tharaka Nithi County at State House.

In a firm and optimistic address, the President dismissed any possibility of failure in delivering on his mandate, citing his extensive experience, strong academic credentials, and deep connection to ordinary Kenyans.

“Others before me may have had reasons for inaction, some might blame their education, age, or disconnect from wananchi,” Ruto said. “But I have no such excuses. I must undertake this difficult job.”

President Ruto pointed to his 15 years in Parliament and 10 years as Deputy President as essential preparation for leading the country. He emphasized that he brings a rare combination of attributes to the presidency: “I am not too old, I’m well-educated, Kenya’s first PhD holder in office, and I come from the grassroots. I understand the country’s problems firsthand.”

He went on to draw a parallel between himself and his predecessors, asserting, “I have the courage of Jomo Kenyatta, the understanding of Daniel Moi, the education of Mwai Kibaki, and I shared in the plan with Uhuru Kenyatta. So, I must deliver.”

The President outlined key focus areas for his administration, including transforming agriculture, stabilizing the economy, revamping healthcare, and improving infrastructure. He appealed for national unity and support, saying, “This is the assignment I have, and I must do it. Pray for me and stand with me.”

Ruto’s remarks come amid growing pressure on his government to deliver on campaign promises amid economic hardship. His message to Tharaka Nithi leaders reaffirmed his vision for a bold, hands-on presidency driven by experience and determination.
