Ruto, Raila Shamed For Roadside Rallies

Kenyans bore witness to a politically charged weekend after Deputy President William Ruto, Raila Odinga held separate gatherings.

However some sections of Kenyans have rebuked the events terming them as Super-spreader events for the raging COVID-19.

President Uhuru Kenyatta issued stringent measures to control the spreading COVID-19 pandemic.

One such measure was a strict limit to the capacity of people at a gathering, as well as a ban on political meetings.

However, the meeting by the duo, which consisted of residents who hardly wore any mask, attracted dangerous crowds.

The two political leaders, who are already vaccinated against COVID-19 were accused of exposing Kenyans to the pandemic.

Currently a Delta variant of COVID-19 is fast spreading in the country, causing citizens to endure an extended partial lockdown.
