Biden Delegation To Attend Ruto Swearing-In

The delegation is among the 2,500 Very Important Persons (VIPs) certified by the Assumption of Office Committee on Saturday to attend the event.

US President Joe Biden has named the presidential team that would attend President Elect-William Ruto’s inauguration on Tuesday at the Kasarani stadium.

Biden stated that the mission would be led by US Trade Representative Katherine Tai.

Other names on the list include Meg Whitman, US Ambassador to Kenya, Texas Representative Colin Allred, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of African Affairs, and US Department of State Mary Catherine Phee.

Monde Muyangwa, Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Africa at the United States Agency for International Development, is also part of the delegation.

Biden thanked Ruto on September 7, 2022, after the Supreme Court upheld his presidential victory on August 9, 2022.

The delegation is among the 2,500 Very Important Persons (VIPs) certified by the Assumption of Office Committee on Saturday to attend the event.

Twenty heads of state will also attend the ceremony, which will see President-Elect Ruto take over from departing President Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Kenyatta is set to give over the tools of power – the symbolic sword and the Constitution – to his 10-year deputy.

The Committee on Assumption of Office has certified that everything is in order for the historic day.
