Kenya Kwanza Alliance Nairobi gubernatorial candidateJohnson Sakaja has named Absa Bank Kenya Ltd Chief Operating Officer James Njoroge Muchiri as his running mate ahead of the May 16 deadline for naming running mates.
Muchiri had contested in the recently concluded United Democratic Alliance (UDA) primaries for the governorship of Nyandarua, but was defeated by businessman Kiarie Badilisha.
The Sakaja-Muchiri team will now face the Azimio duo of corporate executive Polycarp Igathe and former Kibwezi MP Prof Philip Kaloki in Nairobi.
Mr. Muchiri will be unveiled on Tuesday afternoon by UDA presidential candidate Dr. William Samoei Ruto at his Karen office, who will also reveal the Nairobi team line-up, which includes members of parliament and county assemblies.
