Sakaja’s Aide Osman Khalif Still Missing, No CCTV Footage Of Abduction

DCI regional coordinator Peter Njeru before Justice Chacha Mwita at Milimani Law Courts on November 20 2023.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s aide Osman Khalif remains missing, with Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin stating that an investigation into his kidnapping is underway.

Amin had dispatched Peter Njeru to represent him in court in the alleged kidnapping of Osman, as ordered by Justice Chacha Mwita.

Njeru, who is presently the DCI regional coordinator in Nairobi, informed the court that on November 10, around 1900hrs, a report of Osman’s alleged kidnapping was submitted at Parklands police station by the wife of one Yasmin.

Yasmin made an OB entry and reported that her missing husband was bungled into a Toyota pickup, silver in colour registration number KCT 163H.

After receipt of the report and due to the seriousness of this issue, Njeru directed the DCI Parklands office to take over the matter.

A request to NTSA about the registration number of the double cabin pickup, KCT 163H was made.

NTSA told the DCI that the vehicle was a PSV Toyota coach Bus yellow in color belonging to Wasulu Logistics Limited.

“We formed an opinion that the double pickup was branded with the same number plates as the PSV Toyota coach. Alternatively, Yasmin could have read the number wrongly,” said Njeru.

The court heard that the scene of the alleged abduction was not covered by any CCTV.
