SGR Naivasha finally fulfills Syokimau Prophesy

BY PRUDENCE WANZA- The Standard Gauge Railway(SGR) might not be the exact prophesy of the Kamba prophetess Syokimau but still it can counted as a prophesy come true.

Early in the 1800s Syokimau predicted the coming of the British and indicated that the arrival of a long snake producing fire and smoke. She also said that in it will be ‘people with skin like meat who spoke unintelligibly like birds and carried fire in their pockets’

Later people came to understand the prophecy as the Kenya-Uganda railway constructed in the 1896 by colonialists who were white whom Syokimau referred to as ‘people with skin like meat’.

But with the new improvement of the old railway line to the new SGR this might as well be the prophecy Syokimau talked about since it has all the similarities with the Kenya-Uganda railway.

For instance, the two are railway lines to start with only that one is more improved. The two have also not been constructed by Kenyans or blacks but by white people from Britain and China.

As a result of such a prophecy Syokimau Railway Station was named after her and it is now the Nairobi station of the new SGR.

Today President Uhuru Kenyatta launched freight service on the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Nairobi to Naivasha.

The launch of the cargo operations comes less than two months after the President unveiled passenger services on the same route.

The President noted that demand for the passenger services on the Nairobi-Naivasha route has outstripped carrying capacity.

“To date, the Madaraka Express has moved more than 10,000 passengers (on the Nairobi-Naivasha route), with demand significantly outstripping our carrying capacity,” said the President.

Well, with the SGR being operational from Mombasa-Nairobi-Naivasha this is with no doubt the long snake the Kamba prophetess talked about and could be the final fulfillment of the Syokimau prophesy.
