The National Assembly has set an official date for the vetting of Shadrack Mose, the nominee for Solicitor General.
According to a gazette notice published on Thursday, the former Kitutu Masaba MP has been summoned to appear before the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs on Thursday, February 23.
The vetting will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Mini Chambers of the County Hall in Parliament.
Mose has been advised to bring his certificates to the vetting day, which include certificates from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), and the Higher Education Loans Board.
He’ll also need clearance from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP).
President William Ruto appointed Mose to the position in a letter to the National Assembly on Sunday.
“It is most graciously notified that Dr. William Ruto, President and Commander-In-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, has in exercise of the constitutional prerogative vested in the Head of State and Government nominated Mr. Shadrack John Mose, for appointment as the Solicitor-General,” President Ruto stated.
If he is approved by the National Assembly, he will succeed Ken Ogeto, who is also from Nyamira County.
