Police have launched a manhunt for three directors of Lariak Properties, a business named as the owner of a home destroyed in Westlands, Nairobi, on November 4.

Some home items taken during the exercise were found at a roadside shop in the city.

The remaining three defendants will be charged with intentional property damage, according to DCI land fraud investigators.

Zachary Baraza, an auctioneer, was also charged in the case and freed on Ksh. 200,000 cash bail.

On Saturday morning, Niraj Shah and his wife Avani Shah took DCI land fraud section investigators to a roadside open shop where home goods confiscated during the demolition, including as window frames and door frames, were retrieved.

“These were the things selected fraudulently by rogue criminals posing as auctioneers. This is the extent of impunity,” Avani remarked.

Police have initiated a manhunt for the shop’s owner, John Mwangi Thuku, who left minutes before the raid began.
