Shakahola Genocide: Drones Deployed As Search For Bodies Expand To Tsavo Park

The search for survivors and the bodies of those who died in the Shakahola hunger cult in Kilifi County will now expand to the Tsavo East National Park.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki announced on Saturday stated that the government would utilize drones to supplement detectives on the ground.

Exhumation operation at the mass grave site has been paused to allow for autopsies on the recovered bodies.

On Friday, one more person was recovered in the Shakahola forest, increasing the total number of individuals rescued in the event in which Good News International Church Pastor Paul Mackenzie Nthenge allegedly encouraged congregants to starve themselves in order to “meet Jesus” to 90.
