Shakahola Massacre: Postmortem To Show Whether Victims Have Missing Body Organs

Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki has stated that the postmortem examination of the 109 bodies exhumed in Shakahola forest will seek to determine whether their body organs were harvested, among other things.

According to Kindiki, the week-long postmortem examination will seek to determine the circumstances surrounding the victims’ deaths.

Kindiki told the press on Monday that the Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor-led team will also try to prove the theory of organ harvesting, which has been linked to the Kilifi cult, which is allegedly led by pastor Paul Mackenzie Nthenge, founder of the Good News International Church.

“If any of our people have their organs missing we will tell the world, there is nothing we are hiding and we will have to find out why those organs are missing, who took them and to where,” said Kindiki.

“This is a long process of accountability.”

At the same time, the Interior CS revealed that action will be taken against any public official found to have contributed to the killing of the Shakahola victims.

“The government will do everything possible to find out who why and how a large number of our people met their deaths in such an inhumane number and anyone found in the path of accountability will have a date with destiny,” he added.

The Interior CS added that the Judicial Commission of Inquiry, which will be appointed by President William Ruto, will then make recommendations on the appropriate action to be taken against those found guilty.

“We are moving forward methodically and carefully to make sure that we get to the bottom of this matter,” he said.

He also stated that once the investigation is completed, the government will implement measures to prevent crimes similar to the Shakahola massacre.

“The kind of measures we are going to put will ensure that never again will we have this kind of crimes on the soil of our country.”
