Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi has recused himself from handling an attempted murder case against Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.
Andayi said the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has written a complaint to the Judicial Service Commission after the magistrate’s controversial bail terms.
The matter will now be heard by one magistrate Bernard Ochoi.
The irate legislator is facing two criminal charges – an unlawful attempt to cause the death of DJ Evolve and handling a firearm while drunk and disorderly.
Babu was released on a cash bail of KSh.10M and was directed to pay in installments, a mode of payment that raised eyebrows.
