The Kenya Sevens team, popularly known as Shujaa, continued their poor form at the Hong Kong Sevens, losing all of their Group D matches as the downward spiral continues.
Shujaa was defeated 29-5 by New Zealand, 26-14 by Ireland, and 26-17 by South Africa at the Hong Kong Stadium.
Shujaa had no command against the South Africans, handing over possession, which the South Africans exploited to punish them.
Shaun Williams, Soyizwapi Sivive, and Grobbelaar Christie all crossed the whitewash, with Ricardo Duartee converting for a commanding 19-0 halftime lead.
Following the break, Kenya’s Oyoo Nelson reduced the deficit with an unconverted try, but South Africa’s Donovan Don struck again.
Kenya’s weakness appeared to be losing possession, and subsequent tries from Jeff Oluoch and Billy Odhiambo did little to save Shujaa.
