As campaign heighten towards the August General Election, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has called for the rejection of Azimio la Umoja Kenya one Alliance presidential Candidate Raila Odinga.

He says the reason for that would be because he had nothing to offer to the region.

The Governor said Raila’s coalition refused to sign a written agreement showing what they will do to the Coastal people unlike Deputy President Wiliam Ruto who is transparent and made everything in writing on what he would do to the region.

Governor Kingi was speaking in Water grounds Kilifi during his last Madaraka day celebration as Governor where he said  Coast people will no longer be taken for a ride as it used to happen before.

He said out of those aspiring for presidency in the country it was only one the Deputy president William Ruto who does not give promises on podiums and has taken all issues affecting coast and agreed to sign an agreement with the Coastal people to address them.

“As a Coastal son you are aware I was in Azimio coalition and you know well that had I remained in the coalition I would have been given a ministerial position when Raila formed the governmental but how would my ministerial position help address squatter problem, “he said.

He told Coastal residents to stop looking for positions in these elections and instead go for issues that will address the plight of the people.

He said Azimio refused to sign an agreement to resume port operations, revive cashewnut, and coconut industry, and address land injustices.

The Governor said the agreement in Azimio has nothing to benefit the Coastal person but abut making Raila the president of Kenya.

“I do not care when Kenya Kwanza forms government and am not given any position but the coastal person is given his land, I will be happy with that, even if Kenya Kwanza forms government and of which I know it will form but the cashewnut industry is revived and allocated billions every budget, coconut sector is allocated billions in every budget I will be happy with that,” he said.

Pamoja African Alliance Party Gubernatorial Candidate George Kithi who is Kingi’s candidate said time has come for Coastal people to sit on the decision-making table and thanked his party leader for initiating the coalition agreement with Kenya Kwanza.

Former Malindi MP willy Mtengo said they are ready to work with their UDA counterparts in Kilifi if they stop the sideshow and insults.

He said they may end up campaigning for Dr Ruto alone of UDA leaders in Kilifi won’t stop the conflicts witnessed in the recent past including the DP’s tour of Kilifi.
