Simba Arati Named ODM Deputy National Chairperson As Party Announces Leadership Changes

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced changes in the National Executive Committee (NEC) leadership.

In the statement on Friday, September 8, ODM said the changes were made due to resignations and defections by former holders of the positions.

In the changes, Janet Ong’era was replaced by Kisii Governor Simba Arati as the Deputy National Chairperson.

Former Busia Woman Representative Florence Mutua was replaced by her successor Catherine Omanyo as the Deputy Secretary General.

Further, Saboti MP Caleb Hamisi was named the deputy organizing secretary taking over from former Kwale Woman Representative Zulekha Hassan.

After parting ways with ODM leader Raila Odinga, Olga Karani will no longer serve as the deputy national treasurer.

The party has appointed Kwale Woman Representative, Fatuma Masito, to succeed Karani.

Additionally, Migori Senator, Eddie Oketch, will succeed Mr. Bob Njagi as the secretary for humanitarian and disaster management affairs.

Kakamega woman representative Elsie Muhanda takes over from former Shinyalu MP  Justus Kizito as the Secretary for Security.
