In an escalation of his 2022 game plan, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi met with former UNCTAD Secretary Mukhisa Kituyi and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana on Tuesday.
The three, all of whom have launched candidacies to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, gathered to map out a new political alliance for the 2018 election.
They’re putting together a coalition called the National Alliance for Change, which will serve as their political vehicle in the August election.
As a matter of national interest, they urged for “an urgent conversation with other like-minded leaders on the reform that the country needs ahead of next year’s general election.”
Muturi, who is also the Mt Kenya spokesman, stated that in the 2022 election, they would like to bring a new kind of politics to the table, rejecting the chaos and division that has characterized previous elections.
“If we keep doing things the same way, we won’t be able to alter this country.” To create a new course for Kenya, we must leave behind our chaotic and contentious politics,” he remarked.
