SportPesa Signs KSh1.12 Billion Deal to Sponsor FKF League

Leading gaming firm SportPesa has returned to Kenyan football with a bang, signing a 10-year sponsorship deal worth KSh1.12 billion with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to become the official title sponsor of the FKF Premier League.

Announced during a launch event in Nairobi, the deal will see SportPesa inject KSh85 million in the upcoming season alone, with 60% of the funds going directly to clubs and the remaining 40% used for league operations and administration.

Each of the 18 FKF Premier League clubs will receive approximately KSh2.8 million per year—translating to KSh120,000 per month.

Speaking at the event, SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri said the move signals the start of a transformative journey.
“We are thrilled to partner with FKF once again. Our goal is to restore the glory of Kenyan football and make steady progress in the years ahead. This is a leap of faith and a call to other corporates to join us in supporting local sports,” Karauri said.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed welcomed the partnership, calling it a milestone for Kenyan football.
“This is a transformative chapter. We are grateful to SportPesa for believing in our vision. This deal signals renewed hope and a stronger future for the game,” he said.

As part of the deal, SportPesa will also provide 5,000 replica jerseys for fans to support the Harambee Stars in the upcoming CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The long-term partnership is expected to boost financial stability, improve league competitiveness, and enhance the overall football ecosystem in Kenya. Detailed rollout plans and branding activations are set to be unveiled in the coming months.
