Stepfather Kidnaps Son, Demands Ksh 50,000 From His Mother

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) rescued an 8-year-old boy who had been kidnapped by his stepfather in Tel Aviv’s Embakasi neighborhood on Saturday, November 12, and reunited him with his distraught mother.

This occurred after Everline Nandera, the mother, reported her missing child to the Embakasi police station.

Nandera returned from Muthurwa market to their home in Tel Aviv’s Embakasi neighborhood around 9:20 a.m., only to discover that her husband and son had vanished.

The husband, who is now the primary suspect in the case, had left a note requesting Ksh 50,000 as a ransom to free the boy.

In the note, the man threatened his wife that if she tried any tricks, he would kill the boy with a kitchen knife he was carrying.

After Nandera filed her case at the Embakasi police station, detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) based in the DCI Nairobi area gathered, and a manhunt for the suspect began.

The man was apprehended a few hours later at the NMS Green Park matatu terminus off Haile Sellasie avenue.
