An accident at the busy Stoni Athi Bridge, has left 1 person dead while three people seriously injured.
The head on collision is said to have occurred around midday today.
Truck was attempting to overtake a pickup (both Nairobi bound) when the truck swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle.
Both truck and pickup plunged into the river, with truck toppling over the pickup.
Police and rescue teams currently on site. Both pickup and truck cab retrieved. One body retrieved from the pickup.
The accident caused extensive damage to guardrails, posing a risk to other motorists accessing the bridge.
The body of the deceased was taken to Shalom Hospital Mortuary.
The wreckage was towed to Athi River Police Station.
