Debt of shame

A recent expose’ showed the challenges faced by loan guarantors of debtors who owe digital lenders. These apps generate customer’s private information and follow up on defaulters through making numerous calls to the listed guarantors.

The debt collectors have often been termed to come out with payment demands in a threatening and very rude manner. This has subjected innocent guarantor to threats and constant nuisance issues due to the endless calls.

Kenyans have also taken to social media their experiences with the same lenders and the misery is a commonly shared fact. Guarantors complain that no Information is provided to them during the loan borrowing process but claims for the same are aired directly to them. Some face abuse and verbal harassment from these collectors even in the absence of a non-contractual based agreement.

Kamene Goro, a radio journalist urged Kenyans owing these digital lending schemes not to pay them back. Her comment was based on the notion of ‘zero respect deserves zero loyalty.

Covid-19 cases update

Covid-19 continues to be a pressing issue in the country. Reports indicate that only 1.6 million vaccinations have been completed. With 56% of the total awaiting the second dose, the rest continue to observe for changes.

323 more cases have been confirmed and 15 more deaths recorded. This leaves the nationally tally at 192,758 and with at least 182,326 recoveries, the country continues to conquer. The number of deaths are currently at 3,775 and with a positive impact expected from these vaccinations, hope continues to reign.

Kagwe Mutahi, CS for health continues to push for Kenyans to get vaccinated and keep observing the key covid-19 protocols. He maintains that discipline is still important if we want to conquer the disease.

Papa Shirandula death anniversary

Kenyans celebrities in the entertainment industry joined together to commemorate the death anniversary of veteran Charles Bukeko famously known as ‘Papa Shirandula’.

Those in attendance were mostly cast players in the television series ‘Papa Shirandula’ which aired on citizen Tv. Jalang’o, radio personality took his widow to tears after promising to educate Papa’s child all the way to University. In collaboration with Captain Otoyo and Njoro, Jalang’o assured the family that they will cater for all school needs for the child.

Jacky Vicke thanked the late Papa for taking the role of a father in her life and for the platform to grow her talent. She wore to the event a coat with Papa’s picture printed on it for remembrance. The team in general was very grateful for Papa’s role in their careers and personal lives. May his soul continue to rest in peace.

Atwoli throws wife lavish birthday party

Mary Kilobi Awoli turned 37 and the Atwoli family saw to it that she remembered the day. The Tv personality has been married to COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli and they continue to share great memories together.

Pictures of the lavish birthday party flooded the internet as the coupled enjoyed the celebrations in the company of their friends.  The two love birds have not stopped showing their love irrespective of most rumors and comment online. Indeed they continue to thrive both in marriage and career.

According to Mary Instagram post on her birthday, she is grateful for life and for God being on her side regardless of all hurdles. This she summarized by calling herself a Psalm 124 gem.

Krisper vs KU

Just few days after Krisper’s ‘Ndovu ni kuu’ hit featuring young artist Boutross Munene and Kaligraph Jones was removed from YouTube after getting 3.5 million views due to a copyright claim, Kenyatta University put out a war with the artist on defaming the school. The school claims that their intake has gone down 40% after the release of the song which spoke of the immorality that goes on in the school.

According to a report done by KUCCPS, the main reason university intake was low owed to the fact that most students opted for TVET courses. Kenyatta University has requested the artist to do a free show to encourage students to apply to the school.

Krisper on the hand intends to sue the upcoming artist Nezzoh for the copyright claim since the song does not by any chance relate to his original sample. He claims that there is no form of similarity between the sample and the hit.

Kangogo’s death continues to reveal more

It has been barely few days after killer cop Caroline Kangogo allegedly killed herself at her home in Iten- Elgeyo Marakwet. The late cop’s father has come out to address and dispute murder rumours. The father Barnabas Kibor said that he is not going to accept claims from unsure sources on matters surrounding his daughter’s death.

He confirms the daughter arrived home earlier that night at 10pm and had locked herself in the bathroom and planting her body would have been impossible. The suicide notes circulating on social media are not in his knowledge and this is why Caroline’s father was unable to confirm the same.

The family still believes the claims against the daughter are untrue as she did not give her part of the story. They plan to conduct a proper burial for their daughter in the Christian ways as they do not intend to honour her cremation request.


Erick Omondi vs Ezekiel Mutua

Comedian Erick Omondi and the C.E.O Kenya Film and Classification Board Ezekiel Mutua have found themselves in an online heated war. This is briefly after a radio interview with Ezekiel Mutua went viral as he claimed that Erick is common poor artist with no money. Ezekiel Mutua insisted that the entertainment industry was suffering and Erick was flaunting money he did not have. This he claimed was part of the reasons these artists suffer from depression.

These claims were responding to the ksh.200, 000 that Erick Omondi gave to Bahati on his new album music launch after the KFCB board cancelled its sponsorship with the artist.

Artists such as Mulamwa and Kaligraph Jones have shown their support to Erick Omondi online and have called out Ezekiel for constantly putting the artists in the industry down. Erick on the other hand gave Ezekiel a 24our ultimatum to offer an apology for the remarks he aired.
