Police in Awendo, Migori County, have arrested a suspect found transporting a sack of cannabis sativa along the Migori–Kisii road. The arrest took place on Tuesday after officers intercepted the suspect, who was ferrying the narcotics on a motorcycle.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and will be arraigned in court once processing is complete.
The National Police Service (NPS) reiterated its commitment to combating the trafficking and use of narcotics, saying the substances continue to pose a serious threat to public safety and the wellbeing of communities.
