Taita Taveta Grants 100 Children With Full Scholarships

Taita Taveta County Government has granted 100 underprivileged children from 20 wards in the County full scholarships worth Sh20 million.

Granton Samboja, Taita Taveta Governor, handed off the bursary cheques at his Mwatate office, urging the recipients to make use of the opportunity and work extra hard in their studies.

“We have a lot of other kids who would like to take advantage of this opportunity, but you are the lucky ones because of our limited resources and how we plan. Please make use of it,” he said.

Governor Samboja advised students to avoid engaging in activities that would jeopardize their chances of reaching their goals and to keep focused on their studies.

Philip Mwangale, the CEO of the Education Fund Board, stated that the board was actively striving to alter policies to accommodate additional learners.

“The criteria for granting beneficiaries have been updated to allow for more pupils to be selected, and gender parity was also observed, with 51 boys and 49 girls receiving scholarships,” he explained.
