Police have arrested ten people in connection with last week’s attack on the Emakale Police Post in Matungu Sub-County, Kakamega County.

During the incident, public documents were destroyed and personal belongings of a police officer were vandalized, prompting security agencies to launch a manhunt for those involved.

In a joint operation carried out today, officers from Matungu Police Station, led by the Officer in Charge of the Station (OCS), together with detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), apprehended the suspects.

The ten are currently being held in custody and are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.

The National Police Service (NPS) has issued a stern warning, stating that attacks on police facilities, destruction of government property, or obstruction of officers while on duty will not be tolerated.

Authorities emphasized that such acts of lawlessness will be met with firm and decisive action.
