Terror Suspects Escape From Kamiti

For information on three terror suspects who escaped from Kamiti Maximum Prison, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has given a Ksh60 million cash reward.

The DCI confirmed in a statement on Monday, November 15, that terror suspects escaped from the prison at 1 a.m. on Monday morning.

“On 15th November 2021, at around 0100hours, three (3) terror inmates escaped from KAMITI MAXIMUM PRISON by removing part of the wall to their cell block. The National Police Service (NPS) is looking for the following individuals who are at large. “

Profile Of The Wanted Suspects

i. MUSHARAF ABDALLA AKHULUNGA aka ZARKAWI aka ALEX aka SHUKRI. -- Participation in a foiled attempt to conduct a terrorist attack targeting Parliament Buildings. He was charged with possession of explosives, ammunition and firearms.

ii. MOHAMED ALI ABIKAR. - Arrested following his involvement with the GARISSA UNIVERSITY attack that occurred on 2nd April 2015.

iii. JOSEPH JUMA ODHIAMBO aka YUSUF. - was arrested on 21st November 2019 in BULLA HAWA, SOMALIA while attempting to enlist with the Al Shabaab terror group.

Kenya Prisons Commissioner General Wycliffe Ogallo urged Kenyans to cooperate.

“The matter has been brought to the attention of all security agencies in
the country with a view of tracking and apprehending the escapees. I wish to notify the members of the public that these are dangerous criminals and nobody should provide refuge to them.”
