Police in Tharaka Nithi are looking into a homicide after the corpse of a man was reportedly discarded in the Ura River on Sunday.
According to neighbours, the body was not readily identified because it was missing a head and private parts.
As the inquiry into the sad finding continued, officers from Gatunga police station retrieved the body from the spot and transported it to Marimanti Level 4 hospital.
Police officers familiar with the event have urged members of the public who lost contact with missing relatives to come forward to aid with identification and investigations.
