Three Arrested as Police Seize 810 Rolls of Bhang in Kasarani Raid

Three individuals were arrested on Monday, June 9, in a major anti-narcotics operation in Kasarani, Nairobi, as police seized a significant quantity of illegal drugs intended for distribution across city estates.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the raid was intelligence-led and resulted in the confiscation of 810 rolls of bhang, 50 kilograms of cannabis sativa, and 30 hash-infused cookies. The substances are believed to have been prepared for widespread illegal circulation.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue. Authorities have secured the seized drugs as exhibits in the pending legal proceedings.

In a statement released after the operation, the NPS reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and safeguarding communities. “The National Police Service remains steadfast in its commitment to dismantle drug networks through sustained, intelligence-led operations and collaboration with the public to safeguard communities from the harmful effects of drug abuse and trafficking,” the statement read.

The raid is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb the spread of narcotics in urban areas, with police urging continued public cooperation in the fight against drug-related crimes.
