Three Arrested Following A $24,500 Westlands Burglary

Detectives from Kilimani have made a breakthrough in a high-profile burglary case in Westlands, Nairobi, arresting three suspects connected to the theft of electronic items and cash valued at over USD 24,500.

The suspects, identified as Lenah Khamatioli (28), Ian Kavaya (28), and Peninah Mutola (32), were captured at their hideout in Kawangware after weeks of intensive investigation.

The burglary occurred on September 24, 2024, when a South Sudanese national returned to her home on Rahpta Road to find her house girl missing along with a significant amount of cash, an iPhone 15, a Samsung Z Flip, and several pieces of jewellery.

The homeowner promptly reported the theft to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), triggering a comprehensive inquiry involving forensic analysis and intelligence gathering.

During the arrests, detectives recovered numerous items believed to be proceeds of the crime, including a Boxer motorcycle, a 55-inch Vitron TV, an HP laptop, and multiple Samsung phones.

Investigators also seized an agreement for a parcel of land in Nandi County, suggesting potential plans for property investment with the stolen funds.

The suspects are currently in police custody, as authorities continue to search for additional accomplices and any remaining stolen property.
