Thwake Dam To Be Completed In 2024 — CS Alice Wahome

Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation Alice Wahome met China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) Vice Chairman You Xuhua and Luo Daxin, General Manager Assistant, at Maji House in Nairobi on Thursday to discuss the Thwake multipurpose dam project.

According to CS Wahome, the dam’s construction will be completed in February 2024, and it will service at least 1.3 million people.

The CS promised that the government would back the CGGC group and establish a favorable environment for the project’s completion.

CS Wahome insisted on excellent work and appropriate treatment of the 2,000 workers presently laboring at the location during her tour.

She also requested a comprehensive report so that the few underlying issues facing the project could be handled to guarantee a safe working atmosphere for all.

The dam project in Eastern Kenya at the junction of the Thwake and Athi rivers has been described as a lifesaver for rural people in at least three Counties.
