TikTok is testing a dedicated “Shop” feed page, which allows viewers to explore and purchase things from a variety of categories, including apparel and gadgets.
The feed tab is now being tested in Indonesia, according to the company.
According to the firm, the Shop tab acts as a hub for products sold in TikTok Shop, a retail tool that allows merchants and artists to promote and sell things directly on TikTok.
TikTok Shop is currently available in select markets including Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Screenshots of the new Shop feed tab posted by product intelligence firm Watchful.ai show that the tab appears next to the “Following” and “For You” tab in the app’s home screen.
It has a search bar as well as several shopping categories such as beauty, women’s clothes, electronics, accessories, bags, kitchen, footwear, baby, office, bedding, and others.
The screenshots indicate that the Shop tab offers benefits such as free shipping on certain orders.
