Titus Ekiru Defends Milano Marathon Title

Titus Ekiru of Kenya successfully defended his Milano Marathon title by clocking the sixth fastest time of 2:2.57 to win the men’s race on Sunday in Italy.

After the 30km mark, Ekiru broke away and held on to win the race ahead of compatriot Reuben Kiprop, who finished second in 2:3.55, and Barnabas Kiptum, who finished third in 2:4.17.

Ekiru, who trains in Kapsabet Nandi County, is managed by Rosa Associati of Italy.

Reuben Kiprop and Barnabas Kiptum finished at second and third respectively.

Racheal Jemutai of Kenya finished second in the women’s event, clocking 2:22.50 behind race winner Ethiopian Hiwot Gebrekidan, who crossed the finish line first in 2:19.35. Eunice Chebichi of Bahrain finished third.
