Transport Paralysed On Thika-Juja Road As Bridge Collapses

Kiambu County’s transport operations came to a complete stop as a result of several hours of intense rain that devastated the region.

The bridge linking the constituencies of Thika and Juja was destroyed by the torrential downpours that resulted in flooding.

The crisis that shut down all local transport was caused by a truck carrying blocks from Juja to Komo village in Thika getting stuck, which led to the collapse of the Ndarugu River bridge.

The bridge, which is made of metallic solid elements, is no longer usable by motorists, with residents urged to consider taking alternative routes to get to their destinations.
