Turkana county has recorded its first positive case of covid-19 becoming the 29th out of the 47 counties in Kenya. The case was from Kakuma Refugee camp in the County – By Prudence Wanza.
Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi, said this while announcing 72 new cases of covid-19 bringing the total number of infections in Kenya to 1,286.
Dr. Mwangangi said that the government has increased its bed capacity to 5,000 and more than 11,000 health care workers have been trained.
The new cases are spread across Nairobi with 52 cases, Mombasa 11, Kiambu 7 and Isiolo 1.
In Nairobi cases are spread across; Lang’ata 21, Dagoretti North 15, Dagoretti South 1, Embakasi West 1, Embakasi East 2, Kamkunji and Kibra 4 cases each, Makadara and Mathare 1 case each.

In Mombasa cases are spread across; Nyali 4, Mvita 3, Kisauni 3 and Changamwe 1case.
Kiambu recorded cases in Limuru2, Githunguri, Ruiru, Thika and Kikuyu 1 case.
9 more patients have recovered from the disease raising the total number of recoveries to 402.
One patient has also succumbed to the disease bringing the number of deaths 52.
In total Kenya has done 61,971 tests.
