TURKANA: Three Bandits Gunned Down By Police


Police Officers have killed three alleged bandits in Turkana County.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the three were killed on Saturday during a shootout between officers and the criminals.

“A shootout between NPS Officers from Loima and suspected bandits at Kangalita in Kalemnyang left three of the suspects fatally wounded,” a police spokesperson stated.

The three suspects have been identified as 37-year-old Simon Egielan Lopongorei, 39-year-old Lokucha Ngeruk, also known as the sharpshooter, and their 21-year-old accomplice, Tiya Logumo.

Lopongorei was described by police as a notorious bandit and gang leader with three pending court cases accusing him of violence, gang rape, and threatening to kill.
