Two Arrested in Nakuru with Bhang Worth Ksh.13.5 Million

Two suspected drug traffickers are in police custody after being found with 450 kilograms of bhang valued at Ksh.13.5 million along the Naivasha-Nairobi highway.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects, identified as Bonface Mandende Zinjenga and John Oloo Amolo, were arrested by Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) detectives following a tip-off from members of the public.

The officers intercepted the suspects’ vehicle, a Toyota Noah with registration number KBH 226U, near the Delamere shop. Upon inspection, eight gunny bags and eleven bales of cannabis sativa were discovered concealed inside.

“Anti-narcotics unit detectives have apprehended two traffickers and confiscated 450 kilograms of cannabis sativa valued at approximately Sh13.5 million,” the DCI confirmed in a statement.

The suspects were initially detained at the Naivasha Police Station before being transferred, along with the seized vehicle and contraband, to DCI headquarters in Nairobi for further processing.

They are expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
