Two ’Fake’ Lawyers Charged As LSK Crack Down Heats Up

Today two ‘quack’ lawyers were separately charged with pretending to be Advocates of the High court contrary to sections 33 and 85 of the Advocates Act.

Jerusha Nyambura Mwangi, a secretary at Washira Nderitu and Company Advocates was the first to appear in Court. She was accused that on May 17, 2023, at Ellys House along City Hall way in Nairobi, willfully pretended to be an Advocate of the High Court.

She was also accused of commissioning an Affidavit deponed by Sophie Kaibira having knowledge that she was not qualified to act as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

Onesmus Dola on the other hand was also charged with pretending to be an Advocate of the High Court at Gill House along Moi Avenue in Nairobi by commissioning an affidavit knowing that he was not qualified to act as an Advocate.

They both denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Ksh 20,000.
