Two Women, Child Cheat Death After Vehicle Burst Into Flames

Two women and a child narrowly escaped death on Tuesday when the personal vehicle in which they were traveling caught fire.

The ill-fated vehicle was heading towards Eldoret when it was hit from behind by an overtaking bus, according to Molo Subcounty Traffic Police Commander James Gatara.

The collision caused the vehicle to lose control and collide with a lorry heading towards Nakuru.

“The vehicle was occupied by two female adults and a child and upon reaching Kibunja a bus that was heading the same direction tried overtaking it hitting it on the side. It swayed along the highway colliding with a lorry that was traveling the opposite direction after which it burst into flames,” Gatara said.

The passengers escaped with minor injuries.

The vehicle was towed to the Molo police station as the investigation began.
