UDA Party Chairman Johnson Muthama Among Eight Shortlisted For PSC Male Member

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted eight candidates for the position of the male member.

A total of 171 individuals had applied for the position after it was declared vacant.

According to a statement by the Clerk of the Senate, Jeremiah Nyegenye, the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on December 30, 2022.

The list of those shortlisted contains politicians who unsuccessfully contested for elective positions in the August 9 polls.

They include; United Democratic Party (UDA) party chairman Johnson Muthama, former Kisii Governor James Ongwae, former Kiminini Member of Parliament (MP) Chris Wamalwa, former Aldai MP Cornelly Serem, former Limuru MP Peter Mungai, former Matungu MP David Were, former Kwale County assembly speaker Sammy Nyamawi Ruwa and John Aruma Ekale.

Meanwhile, members of the public are urged to submit any relevant information about the suitability of those shortlisted to the Senate Clerk’s Office by Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 5.00 p.m.

“The interviews will be conducted at the Mini Chamber, First Floor, County Hall, Parliament Buildings,” reads the statement in part.

After the interviews, the PSC will recommend a suitable candidate for appointment to the National Assembly and Senate.
