President Uhuru Kenyatta officially opened the Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum on Lang’ata Road in Nairobi City County on Tuesday evening, ahead of tomorrow’s Madaraka Day national celebrations.Â
President Kenyatta, who was accompanied by his Sierra Leone counterpart Julius Maada Bio, took an extended tour of the Kenya Defence Forces’ ultra-modern museum.
The military museum of the new Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum is one of the most impressive features, with a comprehensive display of Kenya Defence Forces weaponry, equipment, and technology spanning decades.

The President, who ordered its closure in August 2020, was more passionate about the repair of Uhuru Gardens.
The garden has been under military control since its closure in August 2020, and Uhuru has been making unscheduled trips to observe how the renovation is progressing.
A government museum of history, a shopping complex, a business complex, a convention center, and a hotel will be located within the Uhuru Gardens.
